The Great Lakes Innovation and Development Enterprise (GLIDE), founded in 2001, is a comprehensive regional innovation center, resource hub, and business incubator that supports all facets of the start-up, development, and growth of enterprises. Created by a partnership between the Lorain County Commissioners, Lorain County Community College, and the Ohio Department of Development, GLIDE’s objective is to grow jobs and spearhead economic growth in both Lorain County and the Northern Ohio region.

Portal Capital typically seeks to deploy $250,000 to $2 million of equity for all, controlling or substantial-minority positions in North American-based early-stage companies.

The Biomedical Research Foundation of Northwest Louisiana

The Biomedical Research Foundation is an independent, nonprofit, organization established in 1986 to pioneer a knowledge-based regional economy by cultivating and attracting life science enterprises and related technologies.

North Coast Angel Fund

North Coast Angel Fund (NCAF) is a contributed capital and “sidecar” pre-seed and seed investment fund with a focus on early-stage technology investments in Ohio. Its membership consists of a number of the region’s leading investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders who are dedicated to accelerating early-stage ventures.

Ohio TechAngels Fund

Since 2004 the Ohio TechAngel Funds (OTAF) have been providing investment capital to commercialize Ohio-based innovations in medical and information technology. The group is a founding member of the Angel Capital Association and its three funds have attracted over 280 members from across Ohio. Drawing on the collective expertise of its Managers, Business Development Partners and Members, OTAF has funded and mentored 30+ portfolio companies, several of which have built significant wealth for the ventures’ management teams.

Physician Investment Group, LLC

Based in Dayton, Ohio, the Physician Investment Group is a biotech angel investment fund that specializes in advancing medical pharmaceuticals and devices from early stage ventures to create viable therapies to treat various disease states. The fund was founded by physician and medical researcher Dr. Amol Soin. Investments typically are $200,000 and above and involve Ohio based biotech companies.
